Drawing at the St. Augustine Art Association

Blog21

Every Monday is Figure Drawing at the St. Augustine Art Association. Located at 22 Marine Street, downtown. Drawing sessions start at 7:30PM to 10:00PM. Ten dollars for three hours, eight dollars for two hours and five dollars for students.
While I was there tonight, I notice how smooth and comforting I felt with Bach in the background. And nothing but the normal miracle of a human body, ready to draw. A place where forms become feelings. Shapes are beyond bodies in this working environment, one can have a scene of realization.

Tonight with the drawings below I was only using a 2′ bar of charcoal. With the shapes I started making I was just enjoying  myself too much to even use a pencil. I had about twenty-five drawings toward the end of the night.

“Our 5,000 square foot gallery serves as the community’s premier art center, housing an impressive collection of Lost Colony art and providing a gathering place for art workshops, lectures, children’s programs, art camp, concerts, art walks and special events. Twice a year, volunteers stage the St. Augustine Art Association Art & Craft Festivals, attracting thousands from across the country to the area’s event field. We invite you to join this vibrant arts group and encourage you to visit the downtown gallery where you’ll experience the energy, artistry and beauty of St. Augustine. “
